Cheap date ideas for every couple

Tired of the same old dates of movie and dinner? Shocked to see your bank account depleting ever since you got into a relationship?

Well, fret no more! We present you with some date ideas for the different couple types that will ensure that you do not break the bank:

The Chill Couple:

When you think of Marina Bay you would most likely associate it with the towering Marina Bay Sands Hotel and the luxurious Shoppes. However, you can spend a whole day here without spending a cent (sans food and entertainment of course)!

Start off your adventure at the Marina Barrage in the early afternoon for a picnic; it is important that you reach early in order to find a nice spot to mark your territory. Read a book or snack on some packed food, so long as you enjoy the beautiful scenery!

Next, walk through the Bay East Gardens (Gardens by the Bay) and make your way to the iconic ArtScience Museum.

End your date with a free film screening (ArtScience on Screen) at the ArtScience Museum. You can walk right inside and take the lift to the top floor. Do check out the film timings in advance and plan accordingly though — I managed to catch a really good documentary when I visited previously!

The Cultured Instagram-ers

Are you Instagram-obsessed? Here are some great Outfit Of The Day (OOTD) locations that are gorgeous as they are easily accessible!

Firstly, head to Bugis via the MRT and walk over to the National Library along Victoria Street. This 5-minute walk from the Bugis MRT station will take you to the unmissable landmark. The rows of books inside make a nice backdrop for pictures, wouldn’t you say?

Then walk along North Bridge Road towards the Malay Heritage Centre. Taking you approximately 15 minutes, you would be revealed a quieter side of Singapore. Revel in the many places selling second hand books and various arts and crafts. Also read up on Singapore’s past while you’re at it!

Lastly, end the day at ION Sky. This observatory is open to the public from 3pm to 6pm, and you will have an uninterrupted and beautiful view of Singapore’s city landscape.

These are just some of the ways you can make your date fun and affordable, if you’re open to the idea of trying something new. Gone are the days where dates are considered proper only if they are posh and involve spending a ton of money! Nonetheless, regardless of whatever date idea you settle on, the company has to (obviously) be the most important part of any date!
